Bio

António Júlio Duarte was born in Lisbon in 1965.He studied photography at AR.CO, in Lisbon, and at the Royal College of Arts, in London. He is the author of several photo books and catalogs: East West (1995), Peepshow (1999), Lotus (2001), Agosto (2003). In 2006, ADIAC published the book António Júlio Duarte, a collection of projects produced between 1990 and 2005. In 2011, he published the book White Noise (Pierre Von Kleist) and The Candidate (Ghost Editions). White Noise was one of the books selected as the best 2011 photobook by the American magazine Photo Eye and named for the best international photobook of Photoespaña 2011. He has been exhibiting regularly in Portugal and abroad since 1990.
