Bio

Liz Harris is Grouper. Focusing her outputs mainly on music and drawing, Liz’s work has been featured in collective and individual exhibits since 2002. She has presented video, serigraphs, drawings, paintings and installations in the USA, United Kingdom and Japan. As Grouper, her music moniker, she’s released numerous hauntingly beautiful records, and toured all over the world.

Her latest “Ruins”, recorded in Aljezur, in Alentejo, during an artistic residency commissioned by Galeria Zé dos Bois, was considered one of the best records of its released year by The New York Times and Pitchfork, to name just a few.

Project

​

In TREMOR, Liz worked in an artistic residency in voice compositions and in field recordings with the final purpose of creating a new long play record entitled After its own death. Residency part of WOMEN IN MUSIC program, financed by FLAD and United States of America Embassy in Lisbon. A collaboration effort by Festival Tremor and Galeria Zé dos Bois in co-production with Pico do Refúgio with the curatorship of Sérgio Hydalgo.
