Project

"Jardim das Alminhas" (Garden of Souls)

Jardim das Alminhas is the name (provisional or not) of the project I am developing at the Artistic Residency at Pico do Refúgio.

Thinking about the island from its history and its place in it, took me to the last chapter of the war between liberals and miguelists. A reality that is either forgotten or just hidden.

In this project, historical episodes, the relationship between the missing and the permanent are thought from the landscape and iconographic elements.

Embodying a portrait of collective memory - or what remains of it - is my greatest interest in this new photographic series.
